Shorter University Dual Enrollment

Shorter University Registration

If a student meets the 3.0 academic GPA requirement, he or she will be informed by the College Counseling office via email. It is then the student’s responsibility to complete the application and scheduling process.

Shorter University Application Process

  • Student applies to Shorter University.
  • Student creates schedule requests for the following year that includes Shorter University’s dual enrollment courses (pending Shorter University acceptance).  
  • Fees associated with Shorter University courses that are not covered by the MOWR funding are the responsibility of the student’s family.

Truett McConnell University Dual Enrollment

Truett McConnell University Registration

If a student meets the 3.0 academic GPA requirement, he or she will be informed by the College Counseling office via email. It is then the student’s responsibility to complete the application and scheduling process. 

Truett McConnell University Application Process

  • Student applies to Truett McConnell University.
  • Student creates schedule requests for the following year that includes Truett McConnell University’s dual enrollment courses (pending acceptance). 
  • Fees associated with Truett McConnell University courses that are not covered by the MOWR funding are the responsibility of the student’s family.

Kennesaw State University Dual Enrollment Honors Program (DEHP)

The KSU Dual Enrollment process begins with a student meeting with the NCCS college counselor to discuss eligibility requirements and KSU options. It is then the student’s responsibility to complete the application and scheduling process.

KSU DEHP Application Process

  • Student completes the required MOWR funding application and returns it to the NCCS college counselor.
  • Student applies to KSU.
  • Student completes their college admission testing (SAT and/or ACT) by the December test date and requests for scores to be sent to KSU through the testing agency.
  • Once accepted to the KSU DEHP, the student informs the college counselor of their decision to pursue KSU DEHP course registration for the following academic year.
  • It is the responsibility of the student to adhere to KSU’s deadlines and course registration policies.
  • After attending KSU DEHP advising meeting, the student will bring required forms to the college counselor for approval and will work with the college counseling office to complete two NCCS schedule requests for the following year: one that includes KSU DEHP courses and a second schedule that does not include KSU DEHP courses (pending actual KSU DEHP course availability).
  • It is the student’s responsibility to arrange their own transportation to KSU.
  • Fees associated with KSU DEHP courses that are not covered by the MOWR funding are the responsibility of the student’s family.

Additional Dual Enrollment Programs

Eligible students can also take additional Dual Enrollment courses through the University System of Georgia, other than through KSU, Truett McConnell, and Shorter.

  • Student meets with the college counselor to discuss identified courses and eligibility requirements from the preferred college or university.
  • If the request is approved, the student will make application to the appropriate college or university and adhere to deadlines and course registration policies.
  • Student creates a schedule request for the following year that includes dual enrollment courses (pending university acceptance and course availability).
