Lower School Summer Learning

Lower School Summer Learning

Our students at NCCS engage in meaningful summer assignments and learning opportunities meant to challenge their minds, cultivate their hearts and prepare them for the year ahead.

This season, we’re also excited to welcome Jill Howell as our new Lower School Administrative Assistant. Jill is a NCCS parent of two children in Lower School. She has a heart and passion for Christian education. Jill brings organization, experience, energy and lots of smiles to our office. If you have any questions or need help this summer, please feel free to email Jill!

Due to the nontraditional, at-home learning that has taken place in response to COVID-19, you may have seen patterns of repeated problem solving and critical thinking in your rising 2nd-4th grader. In the past, students received Cognitive Testing in April as part of our standardized testing week. These results help to determine eligibility for RISE.

With no formal testing in April due to COVID-19, we are opening three dates in July for interested students to take a cognitive test at North Cobb Christian to determine if he/she qualifies for the RISE Gifted Program. If your child participated in RISE last year, he/she automatically qualifies to return. To learn more about RISE click here.

Do you have questions or concerns about your child’s communication skills? If so, we can help! North Cobb Christian School will be offering speech, language, and hearing screenings, evaluations, and services for the 2020-2021 year in partnership with Andrea Davis, M.Ed, CCC-SLP, Owner of Speech-Life, LLC. These evaluations & services will begin the second week of school of Fall 2020.  For more information, please feel free to contact Mrs. Davis at adavis@ncchristian.org

Order your child’s school supplies through the Personal Shopper HERE by July 24, and they will be waiting on your child’s desk during Meet the Teacher in August!

Please take time to review the Lower School dress code. We encourage you to pay close attention to the accessories section. Thank you!

We are always struck by the authenticity of the faculty, staff, families and students at NCCS. It’s more than a school. It’s a family.

After coming to NCCS, I felt myself become a different kid. I was able to stay more focused in the classroom because everyone here wants the best for you.

Our children aren’t just taught — they’re loved. NCCS teachers pour themselves into the students, molding who they become.

At NCCS, we focus on glorifying God on and off the field. Becoming an athlete at North Cobb Christian changed who I am as an athlete and as a believer.

The Arts at NCCS lets me tap into gifts I never knew I had. I’ve found joy, purpose, and lifelong friends who share my passions.

I found the best spiritual leaders at NCCS. The teachers and staff ensure that our spiritual education is just as important as our academic success.
— NCCS Alumni

I am forever grateful to NCCS for making me the person I am today. I want to give back to provide the same opportunities for future generations.

It’s hard to explain, but the minute we walked in the doors, it felt like home. Our whole family has thrived within this precious school’s tight-knit community.
